SAMMNA 2022 AGM - Outcome

SAMMNA recently held it's annual AGM on Sunday, 11 December 2022. We are excited to welcome our newly appointed board members who will bring a wealth of experience, knowledge and enthusiasm to our SAMMNA board. But before we introduce our newly appointed SAMMNA board members, we would like to acknowledge the contribution that a number of our outgoing board members have had on our association over the years. SAMMNA President, Steven McInnes gave the following statement.

2023 Southern Dragons Umpire Pool | Applications Now Open

SAMMNA and the Southern Dragons are now accepting applications for umpires who would like to be considered for selection in the 2023 Southern Dragons Umpire Pool. Umpires selected in the 2023 Southern Dragons Umpire Pool will be required to umpire Southern Dragons training matches and are encouraged to attend Southern Dragons Squad activities.

Presidents Report | 2022 AMMNA Championships

Steve McInnes, SAMMNA President April saw SAMMNA host the return of the AMMNA National Championships at Netball SA Stadium. This was the 35th edition of the Championships which finally occurred some 1,080+ days after the 34th event was held in Melbourne. The event was slightly smaller than expected to occur in 2020 with just 39 teams instead of the projected 49 teams making the trip to Adelaide.

Southern Dragons & M League Update

It has been over 1000 days since the best male and mixed netball athletes in Australia hit the court at the annual Australian Men’s and Mixed Netball Association (AMMNA) Championships. In 2019 the South Australian Men’s and Mixed Netball Association (SAMMNA) was selected to host the Championships for the first time since 1995. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing coronavirus the AMMNA Championships have been cancelled for the last 2 years (2020 and 2021).
