SAMMNA recently held it's annual AGM on Sunday, 11 December 2022.
We are excited to welcome our newly appointed board members who will bring a wealth of experience, knowledge and enthusiasm to our SAMMNA board.
But before we introduce our newly appointed SAMMNA board members, we would like to acknowledge the contribution that a number of our outgoing board members have had on our association over the years. SAMMNA President, Steven McInnes gave the following statement.
"Janine Hook (aka Nino) has made significant contributions to the Association through many roles, specifically as Competitions Manager and chair of the 2022 Tour Hosting Committee among many others. Nino’s valued contribution will continue on the M-League sub-committee into the future. We thank Nino for everything she has done and look forward to continuing to work with her as AMMNA domestic director as well.
Steve Barnden has served SAMNA and SAMMNA as a player and Board member in various role, most notably as Treasurer for many years before winding down to General member before stepping off the Board at this AGM. Steve has also committed so much time to our junior development and Junior M-League programs. We look forward to continuing to work with Steve in the future.
Kathleen Searle has been involved as a general member and inaugural chair of the Fundraising sub-committee. We thanks Kathleen for getting the subcommittee off to a great start and hope to continue working with Kathleen on other fundraising projects in the future".
We appreciate the hard work of our volunteers and always endeavor to keep them involved in future projects. We can't thank Janine, Steve and Kathleen for enough for their contributions to building a strong future for men's and mixed netball in South Australia.
We are pleased to welcome, Alexa Austin into the role of SAMMNA Competitions Managers. Alexa has a wealth of experience in club sport management, including her executive role as Operations Manager at Reynella Netball Club. Alexa will chair the M-League Sub-Committee and with their help, develop a 3 year strategy to ensure SAMMNA provides a clear pathway for Junior boys, Senior Men's and Mixed athletes in South Australia. If you haven't already met Alexa, you will get the opportunity on Monday Nights at Netball SA Stadium at our M-League competitions.
We also welcome Desmond Ford onto the SAMMNA Board as a General Member. Desmond captained the NSW men's team in 1986 and has extensive board experience at various local, state and national levels. We look forward to working with Desmond and utilising his experience to continue moving SAMMNA forward.
Finally, we welcome Sophie Moore to the SAMMNA Board as a General Member. Sophie is a current athlete in the Southern Dragons Mixed Squad and has already shown that she will be a valuable member of our board. Prior to being elected to the board, Sophie has already volunteered at the SAMMNA/ Southern Dragons Quiz Night and BBQ Fundraisers.
