We are excited to launch a JUNIOR MIXED competition for the upcoming 2023 Winter Season. The SAMMNA M-League sub-committee have recognised there is a clear desire for this grade of competition. We are thrilled to launch what will be a fun and competitive competition which encourages participation of both junior boys and girls, aged 13 to 17 years of age.

Please find the below information regarding the 2023 Winter Season Junior M-League Mixed competition. 

Season details:

• Season commences: Monday, 1 May 2023
• Number of Minor Rounds: 15
• 3 round finals series
• Season concludes: Monday, 4 September 2023
• Bye Rounds: Monday, 12 June 2023 (Queen's Birthday)

General information: 

• Age eligibility for participation: (for any age exemptions, please email your request to competitions@sammna.com.au)
• Athletes must not turn 18 years of age before 5 September 2023
• Athletes must be a minimum of 13 years of age as of 1 May 2023
• Registrations for season to be done through Play HQ Program at $1,200 per team, this covers:
  • Court Hire
  • First Aid (SASMA)
  • New Match Ball (per team)
  • Competitons administration 

• Once registered, clubs will need to seek a voucher code for any unregistered NSA player to participate
  Please note, if athlete has already completed this through another association, they won't need a voucher code, it will have been paid alread
• During the season, if a player has played more than 3 games, they will require a full player registration
• Eligibility for finals is a minimum of 4 minor rounds played (unless exmeption by the M-League Committee is granted)
• Each club must submit their uniform colours/design upon registering
• Each club must provide an umpire & coach for every team nominated

Competition By-Laws (Full by-laws to be provided prior to season commencement):

• Games will be played on a Monday night at Netball SA Stadium at 6:30pm, 7:30pm & 8:30pm timeslots
• Each game will consist of the following:
  • 4x 12 minute quarters
  • Breaks between quarters to be 2 minutes, 3 minutes, 2 minutes
  • No stoppages (time will not be held)
  • Minimum 1x male player on court at all times
  • Maximum 4x male players on court at all times
  • Positions allowed to be filled by a male player
  • Maximum 1x shooting position (GS, GA)
  • Maximum 1x circle defence position (GK,GD)
  • Maximum 2x mid court positions (WD,C,WA)
