The South Australian Men’s and Mixed Netball Association (SAMMNA) are thrilled to announce the launch of the inaugural Super League competition this coming 2023/24 summer season. The Super League will feature the best male netballers from across the state, concurrently establishing a clear pathway for aspiring junior boys to follow.
SAMMNA are delighted to announce the following six clubs will take part in the inaugural Super League competition this coming 2023/24 summer season. These six clubs have a rich netball history and are also current license holders in the Netball SA THRFG (The Hospital Research Foundation Group) Premier League Women’s competition.
SAMMNA President Steven McInnes said the introduction of the Super League is a testament to the rise in men’s netball nationwide and South Australia’s commitment to inclusivity in the sport.
"We are thrilled to introduce the SAMMNA Super League, a remarkable leap forward for men's netball in South Australia," McInnes said.
“Our state is embracing the momentum in this space to champion the participation and development of boys and men in netball.
“The Super League will be a pivotal driver in this pursuit, fostering an environment where all genders can excel and contribute to the sport's growth.
Netball SA CEO Bronwyn Klei said the Super League marked a historic milestone in netball’s journey to elevating male participation in South Australia.
“This is a significant step forward in fostering opportunities for men and boys to grow within our sport and the League’s establishment is a testament to SAMMNA’s passion and commitment,” Ms Klei said.
“Netball is a sport for all, and our future will be brighter with talented netballers of all genders shining a light on the power of our game.”
SAMMNA will continue to work in conjunction with Netball SA to ensure the Super Leagues strategic growth and long-term sustainability.
Round 1 of the Super League will commence on Monday, 6 November 2023 at Netball SA Stadium.
