SAMMNA unveils 2024-2028 Strategic Plan

The South Australian Men’s and Mixed Netball Association (SAMMNA) are delighted to unveil its strategic plan for 2024-2028. This new strategy is centred around four pillars—Build, Inspire, Evolve and Lead—aimed at fostering a vibrant and inclusive environment that will drive growth, raise awareness and establish a solid foundation to see boys, men’s and mixed netball not only develop but thrive in the years to come.

Corbett’s Corner - Preliminary Finals (Matrics vs Contax)

Monday February 10th THE PRELIMINARY FINAL Matrics versus Contax. Last weeks Qualifying Final between Garville and Matrics had an enthralled audience on the edge of their seats in a magnificent, hard fought, classic tussle of brilliant netball. What does this week’s final promise as only one team can advance to the Grand Final. What strategies will Contax coach Amy Willis have up her sleeve, what attacking ploys will Matrics mastermind Matt Harrison put out there!

We are now at the business end of the season where one poor quarter can make the difference between making the Grand Final or not! The Qualifying final looms between undefeated Garville and resilient Matrics. Both teams have talent, Garville in particular are laden with state and Australian representatives and young guns. Matrics have their share but not to the same extent! This promised to be a ‘humdinger’ of a clash and indeed, it was!

Match of the Day Monday January 20th Contax versus Matrics With much hanging on the outcome of this match, traditional rivals will be looking to put together four quarters of consistent slick netball that can withstand the defensive pressure that these contests typically bring.

Aalen Davis announced as inaugural Adelaide Thunderbirds Male Training Partner in 2025

Last week, it was announced that Garville Super League and Southern Dragons athlete Aalen Davis has been selected as an Adelaide Thunderbirds male training partner for the 2025 Super Netball season. This marks the first time a male athlete has been formally recognised as a training partner within the Adelaide Thunderbirds environment.

Corbetts Corner: Round 8 - South Adelaide vs Contax

Contax hit their straps last week with a solid win over four consistent quarters, arguably their best game of the season. In contrast, reigning premiers South Adelaide have been inconsistent so far, making this matchup an intriguing one!

Corbett's Corner - Round 5 Review, Garville vs Tango

A match of contrasts it seems. Garville, a team filled with talent in abundance, embellished with state and All Australian representation and Tango, a team with lots of newcomers to netball and very limited experience.

With a flurry of fast leads and bullet like passes the Remembrance Day match began. Aalen Davis started as a key cog in Garville’s attack, connecting purposefully with tall, Ben Clarke at goal attack and 15-year-old ‘wunderkid’ Kruz Wilson at goal shooter.

Corbett's Corner - Round 2 Review, South Adelaide vs Tango

From the first whistle, South Adelaide’s intent became apparent, speed onto the ball, direct precision passing, accurate high passes to the tall Matt Fowler in the goal circle, and full court tight defence. It is worthy to note that Fowler was using both hands to receive the high pass to greater effect, clearly a most positive direction from coach Scott Fort.

The 2025 Men’s Netball Super League season started with a blockbuster opening match between the last Super League seasons finalists South Adelaide and Matrics.  South Adelaide are the reigning premiers and have a new coach after the retirement of esteemed and richly experienced mentor Jackie Blyth. Scott Fort is at the helm of South Adelaide this season and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge as a coach and highly successful former player.

SUPER LEAGUE 2025

In 2024, we witnessed history unfold as six clubs hit the court for the first time, showcasing South Australia’s finest male athletes. The inaugural season delivered non-stop excitement, raw emotion, and unforgettable moments, with South Adelaide Netball Club crowned the first-ever champions.

SAMMNA Media Partner 2024-25 Applications

SAMMNA’s Media Partner is responsible for capturing/creating digital content for SAMMNA. This includes both photography and videography. The incumbent will work in collaboration with the SAMMNA Director of Brand and Marketing to capture and create media content for SAMMNA's products, such as but not limited to the Super League and Southern Dragons state representative squad; this includes travel to Melbourne, Victoria in April for the AMMNA Championships.
